Ihram
Make niyyah for Hajj, recite Talbiyah, and wear Ihram. Enter the sanctified state before crossing the Miqāt.
Hajj, the fifth pillar of Islam, is sacred and obligatory for every able adult Muslim. It is an extraordinary opportunity for you to embark on a profound spiritual expedition, a journey to the holiest city in Islam, Makkah. Just like the other important practices in Islam, Hajj comes with its own set of steps to be followed diligently during this sacred journey.
Make niyyah for Hajj, recite Talbiyah, and wear Ihram. Enter the sanctified state before crossing the Miqāt.
Upon arriving in Makkah, perform seven circuits around the Ka‘bah and pray two Rak‘ahs near Maqām Ibrāhīm if possible.
Walk seven times, starting at Safā and finishing at Marwah, in remembrance of Hajar’s devotion and trust in Allah.
On the 8th of Dhul-Hijjah, proceed to Mina to pray and rest. Prepare for the pivotal day of ‘Arafah.
On the 9th, stand in ‘Arafah after midday, devoting yourself to du‘ā, dhikr, and seeking forgiveness—the essence of Hajj.
Move to Muzdalifah after sunset, pray Maghrib and ‘Ishā, rest, and collect pebbles for the Jamarāt.
On the 10th, stone Jamrat al-‘Aqabah, offer the sacrifice (where applicable), then shave or trim your hair (Taḥallul).
Return to Makkah to perform Tawāf al-Ifāḍah. Complete Sa‘i if required by your Hajj type, then return to Mina.
Remain in Mina to stone the three Jamarāt on the 11th and 12th (and 13th if staying). Engage in dhikr and du‘ā.
Before leaving Makkah, perform the final circumambulation as a farewell to the Sacred House.
